Rabbitpaw dodged to the left then to the right panting heavily. She was in the middle of sparring her best friend Violetpaw hoping to win this fight but things didn't look good. When they started Rabbitpaw started out strong thinking she would make this an easy win, however Violetpaw had proven to be a worthy advisory. Not only did he dodge most of her attacks but had made a few good blows to her. While she was proud of him the she cat did not necessarily want to lose. Once more she charged at him hoping to find an opening from him but instead left her wide open for an easy blow. Cleaver
Violetpaw grit his teeth as Rabbitpaw dodged past him again, his blow landing just a moment too late. She was always just a little bit ahead of him, and it was starting to get frustrating. He spun around and lashed out again, but now she leaped to the right and avoiding his attack once more. How could she be so quick? They made for a strange pair; both of them were swift-footed cats and their fights consisted more of dodging than actually landing attacks.
The pointed tom took a step back, looking to take a breath, but Rabbitpaw was already rushing him again. Violetpaw bounced lightly on his paws until she was near, then spun to the side and lunged again, slamming into her legs and throwing them both to the ground. He growled as he struggled to hold her down, puffing and fighting to speak.

The white and orange cat couldn't help but giggle away like a young school girl. "Maybe I don't want to hold still, but you seem to be handling it well!", her amber eyes glowed with mirth and playful intention. In an attempt to shock her best friend she aimed to stick her cold nose in his ear to try to get him off her. Otherwise she was toast and at this point he would win, which clearly she wouldn't let him win without a fight respectively. They were equal in speed but he had the advantage when it came to the weight category.
Violetpaw's growls quickly turned to a shocked yelp. He pulled his head back sharply and shook it, remaining on top of her but his grip loosening as he was successfully distracted. "Did you just lick my ear?" he demanded indignantly.

"Nope! Just stuck my nose in it so that I couuuld-" and with that she kicked his underbelly but carefully as to not give him serious injuries. She wiggled with everything she could to get out of his grasp but wasn't sure if her moves had freed her or caused him to throw more weight on her. It was a small dirty trick sure but only one she would use on her best friend in mock fighting.
Violetpaw grunted as she hit him hard enough to knock his breath away. He reeled back, letting her free, and stumbled back a few steps to stand with his legs planted wide.
"Hold on," he puffed, shaking his dark head. "Let me catch my breath." Maybe most fights wouldn't stop right then, but he was hoping she would listen to him.

The apprentice stopped and looked to her friend with a worried expression. "I didn't hurt you, did I? Ahh I'm sorry Violetpaw! I was trying some new moves I could use if really needed. I can go easier on you if you want me to." Rabbitpaw sat by her friend booping him on the nose with her nose. "I thought you were doing an awesome job!"
"No... no, it was a good move," Violetpaw assured her after several gulps of air. "You just.. really winded me. I didn't... expect that." He sat back on his haunches, his heart rate ticking down as he gathered his breath. "I thought I had you pinned real good. It was... it was smart."

Rabbitpaw walked up closer to Violetpaw and licked between his shoulder blades. "I hope this helps you a little bit. I am so sorry I took your breath away there. Let's just take it easy, relax for now. I think you have totally earned it since you put up with my shenanigans there."
The siamese tom nodded, accepting the rest. One of these days he would best her in a fight, but it seemed today was not that day. "You're a good fighter, Rabbitpaw," he sighed. "I'll get you. Next time. I just need to make fewer mistakes." He was still learning, but it was getting frustrating that he couldn't even beat one cat.

"I know you'll be able to do it, I am more than confident you will end up being the strongest cat I know. Even stronger than me! And no I am not saying this to cheer you up. I know you'll do it!" Rabbitpaw got to her feet, "I have an idea: why don't I grab some prey and bring it here? We can snack on something while taking a break." She wanted to make it up to her friend and, at least to her, food was one of the best ways to do it.
I'm just frustrated I'm not there yet. Violetpaw bit his lip against saying the words out loud. It wasn't fair to be upset that he wasn't better than her, not when he should be proud his friend was so skilled. "Thanks, Rabbitpaw," he said instead. "That sounds good. While you hunt, I'll look for somewhere nicer to eat." He wasn't going to get in the way of her hunt; he knew she could handle it.

"Sure! If you want to do that I will be quick and grab something for us!" With that the she cat ran off to find prey for them to eat.

How she ended up here she didn't know. One moment Rabbitpaw had been chasing a rabbit getting so close to snatching it from behind when a streak of a creature came flying out of nowhere. The fox almost caught both her and the rabbit but only missed her by a hair. The rabbit however was not lucky as it's death was as swift as it's feet once had been. The rabbit hung in the fox's mouth for a moment before falling to the ground as it gave a terrible hiss at her. The thing lowered it's head snarling with it's own fur standing on end making it known she was it's target now. Fear struck her hard as she quickly looked for a way out before seeing some roots ahead that were open underneath a tree stump. She made a dash to it feeling the fox on her tail. Rabbitpaw felt herself trip up on something but didn't see what it was. She had to keep running...had to. With some luck she made it to her destination but realized four things.
1. She sprained her paw tripping whatever it was she had tripped over 2. She saw what it was she tripped on and realized it was an unknown cat that was very obviously dead 3. No one knew where she was at 4. This fox was relentlessly trying to get to her and eventually would get her if she didn't find a way out of this sticky situation.
How would she get out when she was corned and injured? The fox began to dig trying to reach the prey it so desperately wanted. But why did it want her if it already had another cat and rabbit? Was it sick? The trainee was scared out of her mind.
Violetpaw took off in the opposite direction, his steps soft on the ground as he looked for a good place to sit. He was so frustrated with himself. He hadn't told anyone before, but he had secretly wanted to be the top of their class, to someday join the loyal guard. It was a silly hope, even as a kid, but he'd held onto it fervently with all four paws. Wouldn't it be nice if he was secretly skilled and powerful? If someone wanted him at their side as their most trusted guard? It was all the glory he wanted without the responsibility of being a deputy. He could even learn to train the other apprentices, teach them how to be strong like him.
But that was a fantasy that fell apart during their training. He wasn't skilled, he wasn't good enough to beat Rabbitpaw or anyone else. Violetpaw was nothing but a fool. Fighting Rabbitpaw made him feel horrible, she was always better than he was, but that wasn't her fault. Be proud, he reminded himself again.
He set up a little clearing for them. It wasn't much, just a flat area at the base of a tall tree with a few flowers awkwardly placed around the roots. And there he sat, waiting, as the time dwindled on and on, and he began to wonder if she was coming back after all. Violetpaw rose to his paws and crept back the way she had come, and as he crossed a fox scent, dread coiled in his belly. He hurried after the scent, keeping low until he came upon the beast.
There was Rabbitpaw, cornered, and the fox was there too, digging toward his friend. "Rabbitpaw!" he hissed down at her. "What do I do? Are you okay?" His eyes rounded. "Should I go for help?"

The fox continued to dig unaware of the the other cat that was behind it solely fixated on the she cat at the time. Rabbitpaw saw her dear friend but fear grew even worse as she realized the fox might to try to go after him if it saw him. "Violetpaw run away from here! I don't want it to come after you. Get help or something but please don't get caught by the fox! I'm fine at the moment but just...trapped. I can't really leave from here and-" she saw a small tip of the fox's nose try to peak through as she swiped at it. The fox reared up and gave an almighty growl even more fueled up trying to get to the young apprentice. "GO VIOLETPAW, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. SAVE YOURSELF AND GET HELP!" Cleaver
